In 2024, Cameron Palin was the Green Party Candidate for Isle of Wight West. This was the first election where the Isle of Wight was split into two constituencies.
Cameron secured 2,310 votes which was 6.73% of the total vote share placing him 5th. Isle of Wight West saw tactical vote swapping take place to remove the incumbent Conservative MP Bob Seely. On Friday 5th July, Isle of Wight West elected a Labour MP for the first time in history.
Cameron have vowed to not only challenge the new MP for Isle of Wight West but work with him to achieve the best for the Island. Following the results, Cameron took to social media with his thoughts which can be found here.
In 2024, Vix Lowthion was the Green Party Candidate for Isle of Wight East. This was the first election where the Isle of Wight was split into two constituencies.
Vix secured 6,313 votes which was 18.5% of the total vote share placing her 3rd. Isle of Wight East saw the creation of the East Wight Primary, Vix was elected as the People’s Champion, making her the progressive choice for MP. On Friday 5th July, Isle of Wight East elected a Conservative MP with just 30% of the vote.
